Michael Wedel, MA & BA Econ, Associate in Society of Actuaries, is the Portfolio Manager for Integral ILS based in Bermuda, where he is responsible for assisting the CIO in portfolio management.
Michael most recently was a broker within Willis Re’s structured reinsurance practice, focused on legacy liability loss portfolio transfers. Prior to that he was at AXIS Capital where he structured and launched a Bermuda-based reinsurer, Harrington Re, in partnership with Blackstone, and managed all reinsurance sidecars through the ventures platform.
Prior to this, Michael structured insurance-linked-securities at GC securities, was responsible for portfolio optimisation and catastrophe modelling analytics at AIR Worldwide, and was the Pension Actuary in Deloitte’s consulting practice.
Michael received an MA in Economics from Boston University, a BA in Economics from The College of William and Mary, and is an Associate in the Society of Actuaries.
