Richard Lowther, CA, CPA, is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Integral ILS, and serves as the firm’s COO and CCO
Richard is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Integral ILS since its launch in 2020. Richard helps shape the strategic direction of the firm and focuses on meeting the high expectations of Integral’s investor clients. As COO and CCO he also oversees the day-to-day operations of the firm, including operational, compliance, and governance processes.
Before launching Integral ILS, Richard was the Managing Principal of Hiscox Insurance Linked Strategies, an ILS fund manager he helped establish in 2014 for the global insurance specialist Hiscox (LSE:HSX). From 2008 to 2014, Richard was a founding member and the COO of AlphaCat Managers Ltd, an ILS fund management subsidiary of Validus Reinsurance Ltd. Prior to his tenure at AlphaCat, Richard was a Partner with the Capital Markets Management Division of JLT Insurance Management Ltd in Bermuda from 2000 to 2008.
Richard has been involved in the Bermuda alternative risk transfer market since moving to the island from Canada to work with Marsh Management Services Ltd in 1998. Richard graduated from the University of Victoria, Canada with a BA in Economics in 1991, articled with the Auditor General of British Columbia, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1997.
